James lives and keeps his studio in Upper Montclair, NJ.

James' work has been exhibited in several prestigious galleries including Gallery 51, the Herter Art Gallery, the Eli Marsh Gallery, and the Augusta Savage Gallery, which recently paired Mr. Adelman with painter Sundai Bestman in a stunning two-person exhibit.

James graduated Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors including the esteemed Chancellor’s Award and Scholarship as well as multiple Departmental Awards of Excellence. Additionally, James was one of four individuals chosen to represent the school in the elite Five College Advanced Drawing Seminar.
